Our Content and Updates Policy

How we keep our content accurate and up to date
At Neurodiverse Panel, we’re committed to providing clear, reliable and inclusive information about neurodivergence and related lived experiences.

We follow best practice guidance for creating and updating our content, based on the NHS Standard for Creating Health Content. Our aim is to make sure all the information we share is trustworthy, accessible, and respectful of different neurodivergent perspectives.

How we create our content
Our content is developed in line with these key principles:

User needs first: We start with research into what neurodivergent people and allies need to know, using language and formats that work best for our audience.
Plain English: We avoid jargon and keep things simple, using short sentences and clear headings.
Accessible for everyone: We design content that works for assistive technologies and follows Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards.
Evidence-informed: Where relevant, we base our information on current research, expert input, and guidance from trusted organisations.
Inclusive language: We use respectful, identity-first or person-first language depending on user preference and context.

How we check our content
We regularly review all pages to make sure they are:

factually accurate
up to date
still meeting the needs of our users
inclusive and reflective of feedback from the neurodivergent community
We aim to review most content every 6 to 12 months, or sooner if there are major updates in research, policy, or public interest.

How we involve neurodivergent people
Neurodiverse Panel is built on the lived experiences of neurodivergent individuals. Our community members are actively involved in shaping and reviewing our content, especially where stories, language, or terminology may impact how someone feels about themselves or their diagnosis.

We also invite professionals, researchers and organisations to help review content where clinical, legal or research evidence is discussed.
